"It is Finished: From Beginning to End"--J.D. Greear #liberate2015

John 16:7

Most neglected teaching in the gospel movement is the Holy Spirit.

Many Christians often fall in two extremes related to the Holy Spirit--A focus on the experience or a neglect of the Holy Spirit.

The fact that we are not more excited about the Holy Spirit inside us shows our misunderstanding of God's Word. Jesus beside is good, but within us is better.

Victorious Christianity is Christ in you. (John 15:5)
I understood that the Holy Spirit was a Person.
The Holy Spirit is a better teacher than even Jesus was.

Effective Ministry is Christ Through You. (Acts 1:1)
Jesus can do more in a few minutes than we can do in a lifetime.
Acts 8-Jesus can do more through us in a moment than we can do in a lifetime of mission trips.
God does more through lay people than clergy.
Luke 7-Greatest preacher according to Jesus was John the Baptist. The least in the kingdom has more potential has John.
Example of Quarterback. The point is not me calling the play, but team running the play.
39 miracles recorded in Acts happen outside the church.
It is ordinary people being led by power of the Holy Spirit.
God's Will is not lost. Question is not what but where & how.
What would change if you believed that you were called?

How do we experience power & leadership of the Holy Spirit?
In the gospel (Galatians 3)
It is the fullness of Spirit through understanding of our justification by faith.
The Holy Spirit gives us a sense of the presence of the Father. Moves from head to heart
In our giftings (1 Corinthians 12)
In the Word
Will of God is not what you do; it's who you are becoming.
Through the Church
In our spirit (Nehemiah 2:12; Acts 17)
Through our circumstances

John Newton understood amazing grace. Do not neglect the power of the Holy Spirit.

The weightiness of the Great Commission will crush you.  But the empowerment of the Spirit will free you.

Prayer does not characterize our ministries.

Amos 5:4-6-Closed with this promise.
Pay attention to cities mentioned. Places where Spirit moved powerfully. I'm not a God of the  past, but a God who moves today.
