Promises of God from the Psalms

Be encouraged by the Word of God this morning.  Here are some promises of God from the Psalms compiled by Kenneth Boa:
“Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers.  But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night.  He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither.  Whatever he does prospers” (1:1-3).
“Blessed are all who take refuge in him” (2:12).
“Know that the Lord has set apart the godly for himself; the Lord will hear when I call to him” (4:3).
“For surely, O Lord, you bless the righteous; you surround them with your favor as with a shield” (5:12).
“The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble.  Those who know your name will trust in you, for you, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you” (9:9-10).
“The Lord is righteous, he loves justice; upright men will see his face” (11:7).

Sermon Notes "Plans" based on Acts 10:24-48

Introduction: I would like you to think about the word “plans”. Write down on your bulletin some plans you have for: this week, summer, your future, etc.   I am a planner so I love to know what is going to happen.   Yet we also need to keep in mind a Scripture from Proverbs 19:21 “Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand.” We are going to see from the story of Peter and Cornelius, two great leaders who had plans yet God had a different plan and purpose for them and for others. Prepared- vs. 24-29 ·          Vs. 23-24-Peter and Cornelius have visions (10:1-23) o    Peter is told not to call common what God has made clean (15).
