Promises of God from 2 Samuel

Be reminded of who God is today as you read these promises from 2 Samuel:
“How great you are, O Sovereign Lord!  There is no one like you, and there is no God but you, as we have heard with our own ears” (7:22).
  “O Sovereign Lord, you are God!  Your words are trustworthy, and you have given this good promise to your servant” (7:28).
  “I call to the Lord, who is worthy of praise, and I am saved from my enemies” (22:4).
  “As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the Lord is flawless.  He is a shield for all who take refuge in him.  For who is God besides the Lord?  And who is the Rock except our God?  It is God who arms me with strength and makes my way perfect” (22:31-33).

Sermon Notes "Plans" based on Acts 10:24-48

Introduction: I would like you to think about the word “plans”. Write down on your bulletin some plans you have for: this week, summer, your future, etc.   I am a planner so I love to know what is going to happen.   Yet we also need to keep in mind a Scripture from Proverbs 19:21 “Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand.” We are going to see from the story of Peter and Cornelius, two great leaders who had plans yet God had a different plan and purpose for them and for others.
