Rob Rienow at #d62013

Rob Rienow shared about the generations at D6 2013.

He has spoken every year at the D6 Conference.

Family ministry is not just another department or silo in the church.

How was family ministry woven into the early church?

2 Timothy 3:14-17
  • The sufficiency of Scripture-The Bible is true and enough for every practice
    • Teaching-how to think right
    • Reproof-how not to think wrong
    • Correction-how not to act wrong
    • Training in Righteousness-how to act right
  • Four levels of Scripture
    • Doctrine-the truth of God
    • Righteousness-the will of God
    • Methodology-the ways of God
    • Jurisdiction-the call of God
  •  The Jurisdiction Principle-When a larger jurisdiction usurps responsibility from a lesser jurisdiction,
    • the crisis will not be solved and
    • the proper jurisdiction is robbed of motivation, time, and resources to do the job.
  • The patterns and commands for the early church, given to us by God in the Bible, are to be followed by us today.
    • Ephesians 6:4
    • Family discipleship begins in the home
    • Children were included in the corporate worship service of the early church.
      • Colossians 3, Ephesians 6, Acts 20
      • The only demographic we split up in corporate worship is parents from children
      • So many of our decisions in church are based on pragmatism rather than the Bible
    • Titus 2:4-5-God has spoken through the word of Scripture of heart of women ministry
    • Global missions begins with Genesis 1:28-Be fruitful, multiply, fill the earth...
    • The church has taken over evangelism when it was responsibility of individuals/homes
If you only remember one thing: sacred writings are able to make you wise for salvation and life in Jesus Christ.
