God's Not Mad At You

Do you agree?

I have had several conversations lately on this very topic. When God looks at you, what does He see or think?  I was not raised to believe God was mad at me or was waiting for me to mess us so He could strike me down.  Where does this belief come from?

Yes, God is holy.  Yes, sin must be dealt with.  But both of these are solved at the cross.  One who is holy and without sin took my sin and made me righteous.  Here are some verses to think about today:

31 What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?32 He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?  38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers,39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8:31-32, 38-39)
21 God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. (2 Corinthians 5:21)
But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8)
17 This is how love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment: In this world we are like Jesus. (1 John 4:17)
10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. (John 10:10)
Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we boast in the hope of the glory of God. (Romans 5:1-2)
